Top mistakes to avoid

We have been reviewing submissions and wanted to share common mistakes we are seeing so everyone can get this feedback in advance. Please review the below and make sure your submissions are eligible.

  • Your tutorial needs to be based on a project that you have built (new or pre-existing) and not of something other people built. The tutorial should be a step-by-step guide showing others how they can build a project like yours with the specific Facebook technology. This project is the Sampled Software which should be on GitHub.

  • You need an Open Source MIT License on both your Tutorial

There have been some truly innovative projects built using Facebook products in previous hackathons.

Local languages, Prize Categories and Regions

The Developer Circles Community Challenge is an amazing opportunity to connect virtually! We are happy you have joined us and we wanted to make sure the prize layout and categories are clear so you know what to create.

Overview

Write a step-by-step tutorial on software you built using one of the following technologies: Hack, React, React Native, PyTorch, Docusaurus, Spark AR, Wit.ai, or Messenger Platform.
Your tutorial should be:

  • Publicly available on GitHub
  • Under 4000 words
  • Open Source with an MIT Licence
